The main objective of Primary School Support Service is to make a positive difference to the well being of primary school pupils so as to facilitate their whole person and all round development. Through a series of tailor-made programs outside the classroom, we with the joint efforts from school, parents and the community, aim to provide services for pupils to nurture their personal, social and academic growth. In such a way, the school is a caring and happy place for learning and that pupils with enhanced communication skills are willing to take full responsibility for their actions and develop their own new ideas.

Provide services including:

School-based After-School Learning and Support Programs (School-based Grant & Community-based Project)
The focus of the School-based After-school Learning and Support Programs is to provide more assistance and opportunities for the disadvantaged students who are P.1 to S.7 receiving Comprehensive Social Security Assistance or full-grant assistance under the Student Financial Assistance Schemes to improve their effectiveness, broaden their learning experiences outside classroom and raise their understanding of the community and sense of belonging so as to facilitate students’ whole–person and all- round development.

Pre-Secondary School Guidance
For those primary school pupils going to secondary schools, we offer a unique range of high quality programs to match their needs including mock interview, confidence training, parent-child activities and hotline service.

Understanding Adolescent Project (Primary)
Starting from the academic year 2006/07, we have begun to collaborate with schools to launch the Understanding Adolescent Project (Primary). It is a comprehensive support program for personal growth aiming at enhancing resilience in Primary 4 to 6 pupils who have to handle challenges as they grow up. Programs are divided into Universal Program (UP) and Intensive Program (IP). The UP is a guidance curriculum on resilience, targeting at all Primary 4 to 6 pupils. The IP is a series of small group, adventure-based parent-child activities targeting at Primary 4 pupils identified to have greater need for guidance. Both parents and teachers considered that the project would enhance pupils’ optimism, sense of belonging towards their families and schools, communication skills and co-operation with others.

Parents’ Support Service
Our Parents’ Support Service provides parents with information through workshop, talks, group or outdoor activities on better understanding on complicated issues, improving parent-child relationships and learning practical skills so as to feel more confident as parents.

Peer Counseling
Peer counseling training aims at fostering pupils’ personal growth, advocating self-help and creating a caring school environment. Through interactions like team building activities, peer counselors can achieve a better self-understanding, develop problem solving skills and enhance the spirit of not only helping others but also themselves as well.
