Secondary School Support Service

Aiming at whole-person development and life-long learning, our service encourages pupils to nurture themselves in the five essential Chinese virtues: Ethics, Intellect, Physique, Social Skills and Aesthetics. Through continuous learning, pupils can reflect, explore, create and change in the course of their growing up.

  1. Focusing on the needs of the pupils, we aim at instilling a sense of self-understanding in order that pupils can develop their full potential.
  2. Promoting pupils’ individuality, we believe that each pupil differs in their rate of physical, mental, emotional, and social growth. Developmental services are designed and provided that are consistent with personal development and potential. In hoping that every pupil achieves at high levels, engagement will be made in partnerships with parents, schools and other service agencies.
  1. Case service students may encounter few problems during their school years, such as emotional, behavioural, family, social or learning difficulties. Depending on the circumstances of individual students, the staff of the Scheme will help them solve their problems through case counselling, such as interviews or home visits. When necessary, they will also assist in making referrals to other professionals to help them enjoy a happy and fulfilling secondary school life.
  2. The Programme aims to help students at different stages of their lives to reduce their anxiety and enhance their adaptability, so that they can enjoy school life. These include the Secondary School Adaptation Programme, support for further studies and NSS curriculum activities.
  3. ersonal Development Services The Programme focuses on the implementation of sound and comprehensive personal development education, taking care of the development needs of the whole student body, meeting their personal development and inspiring their personal potential through planned learning areas. The Programme aims to enhance the professional development of teachers in counselling, promote a culture of collaboration among teachers, and enhance their awareness and competence in crisis management. The Programme also focuses on assisting teachers to identify and provide counselling to students with special needs, and supporting teachers to deal with the problems and needs of diverse students.
  5. Parent Counselling Services The Programme aims to promote co-operation between parents and schools and enhance parents’ effectiveness in counselling their children.
